DETERMINANT FACTORS ON LECTURER PERFORMANCE IN IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF HIGHER EDUCATION ACADEMIC SERVICES

Abstract

Private universities, especially the Institute of Educators and Education Personnel (Teacher Training Institute) as partners of state universities, private universities as part of the national education system should continue to be encouraged to promote the growth, role, responsibility and quality of education by heeding the characteristics of private universities concerned as well as general educational requirements. This means that universities should strengthen the ability of the academicians to be more professional and qualified. In this case the role of Teacher Training Institute should be able to create prospective teachers in their respective fields, the reality of the field there are some unresponsible teachers in carrying out their duties even the teacher profession is only made a perfunctory job. Teacher's most important mistake is they can not provide an optimal basic provision to learners, both in the spiritual attitude of social attitudes, knowledge, and skills. Therefore, the main role of Teacher Training Institute as a creator of potential teachers should be able to provide and produce quality graduates of good quality pedagogic, personality, social, and professional. In giving lectures, the lecturers should guide the four competencies of teachers that become absolute basic requirement to be a teacher. One of the factors influencing the quality of higher education service is: personality and dedication, professional development, teaching ability, interconnection and communication, work climate, discipline, prosperity, community relations, leadership, facilities and infrastructure.
